Red Planet Live: Insights from Crew 16’s Arctic Mission with Tiffany Swarmer & Michael Andrews

We’re excited to announce the next episode of Red Planet Live, hosted by Ashton Zeth, will feature Tiffany Swarmer and Michael Andrews, participants in the Crew 16 analog mission at the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station on Devon Island—the world’s largest uninhabited island, located 900 miles from the North Pole. Tune in on Tuesday, January 7th, at 5:00 PM PST for this 60-minute podcast!

As members of the seven-person Crew 16 in July 2024, Tiffany served as Health & Safety Officer while Michael took on the role of Crew Logistics Officer. During their 10-day stay on Devon Island, the crew prepared the Flashline station for future missions by winterizing equipment, cataloging inventory, optimizing habitat orientation, and organizing the science lab.

They also conducted three days of analog astronaut simulation, gathering valuable data that will contribute to published research in biology, geology, human psychology, and aerospace operations.

Beyond their analog astronaut roles, Tiffany is a Crew Survival Systems Trainer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Texas, and Michael works as a Materials Management Manager at SpaceX’s Starbase facility, also in Texas.

Don’t miss this opportunity to ask your questions about life and work at one of the world’s premier analog astronaut facilities!
