SpaceX’s Paul Wooster to Speak at Mars Society Convention Banquet
The Mars Society is very pleased to announce that this year’s Saturday evening banquet at the 22nd Annual International Mars Society Convention at USC in Los Angeles will include a talk by senior SpaceX representative Paul Wooster, providing an update about the company and its ongoing efforts to revolutionize space flight technology with the goal of enabling humanity to settle the solar system.
Mr. Wooster currently serves as Principal Mars Development Engineer at SpaceX in Hawthorne, California, where he is a lead in the technical development of Mars architecture and vehicles. He previously worked as SpaceX’s Manager of Spacecraft Guidance, Navigation and Control, overseeing the integrated system design, fault tolerance and vehicle performance associated with Dragon missions to the ISS.
He also served as a Research Scientist in MIT’s Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics, where his area of research included the design and evaluation of a wide range of human exploration system architectures and the development of strategies for affordable human exploration of the Moon and Mars.
Mr. Wooster earned both his B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also currently serves on the National Academies’ Space Studies Board.
