The Mars Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Michaela Musilova will be joining the 60-minute Red Planet Live podcast, hosted by Ashton Zeth, on Tuesday, July 16th, at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET – 90 minutes later than the usual time slot.
Dr. Musilova is a distinguished astrobiologist, explorer, analog astronaut (including Commander of MDRS Crew 173), science communicator, keynote speaker, and author. Her impressive resume includes conducting space-related research at NASA, ESA, CalTech, University College London, Chiba University in Japan, the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, and many other prestigious institutions. Notably, she has commanded over 30 simulated missions to the Moon and Mars, setting a record in collaboration with NASA and international organizations.
Currently, Dr. Musilova is the President and Founder of the non-profit XtremeFrontiers and is pioneering the Astro Seven Summits project, a unique endeavor combining expeditions to the highest mountain on each continent with scientific research and educational outreach, in partnership with NASA and other global institutions. This project also involves filming documentaries to share their journey.
Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including being named one of Forbes Slovakia’s Most Promising 30 Under 30, inclusion in the Top 100 Aerospace and Aviation Professionals on LinkedIn for 2021 and 2022, and the Emerging Space Leaders Grant. She also participated in the largest all-female STEM expedition to Antarctica.
Dr. Musilova is passionate about education and outreach, frequently giving keynote presentations and working with international media to inspire young people. Her biography, “A Woman from Mars”, aims to empower the next generation. She is also involved with the International Space University, Space ScAvengers, and NEEDRONIX.
